Black Bear Diner Launches 3rd Annual Bear Carving Tour to Raise Money for Local Charities

Black Bear Diner's master woodcarver fires up chainsaw in four cities in three states in seven days to custom carve eight, five foot bears to raise money for local charities.

REDDING, CALIFORNIA (PRWEB) September 08, 2015 - Black Bear Diner, a one-of-a-kind family dining concept featuring excellent food and value served in a bear-themed atmosphere, announced today its 3rd Annual Bear Carving Tour -- Chainsaw for a Change -- to help benefit community nonprofits. The Bear Carving Tour, scheduled from September 14 – September 21, will feature a chainsaw carving demonstration by master woodcarver, Ray Schulz. Schulz is the artist behind more than 300 custom carved bears at nearly all 70 Black Bear Diner establishments.

Schulz will visit four separate Black Bear Diner locations in three states in seven days and custom carve a total of eight, five-foot bears. One custom-carved bear will be given away at each location.

“People get excited to see Ray work and watch the wood chips fly,” said David Doty, vice president of marketing for Black Bear Diner. “Couple that with customers knowing that their support of the tour benefits local charities, and it becomes a win-win for everybody involved. We’re fortunate that we’ve found a successful fundraising model that allows us to make a difference in the communities we serve.”

Since the inaugural carving tour, Black Bear Diner raised nearly $20,000 for fourteen community nonprofits. All benefiting nonprofits are selected by the local Black Bear Diner franchisee.

The 3rd Annual Bear Carving Tour will make stops at the Black Bear Diners in the following cities and support the following four nonprofits:
