Fazoli’s Georgia Franchisee Opens All-New Prototype

Brand Also Expanding in St. Louis Market with New Franchisee

March 02, 2016 // Franchising.com // LEXINGTON, Ky. – Fazoli’s, the nation’s largest fast casual Italian chain, today opened its first new stand-alone prototype restaurant in Macon, Georgia. It also announced that two St. Louis-area business partners will open the popular brand’s tenth location in the region. It will be Fazoli’s first franchised location in the St. Louis market.

The Macon restaurant, owned and operated by C&P Italian Company, LLC, is the first of five Fazoli’s that the franchise company plans to open in Georgia by 2021. C&P Italian Company, LLC brings partners Allen Peake and Mike Chumbley back to the Fazoli’s chain, as they previously operated 12 Fazoli’s in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. “We are very excited to be part of the Fazoli’s family again,” said Peake.

The St. Louis-area location will be in the bedroom community of Washington. Expected to open in October 2016, it is being developed by Brad Swederska and local businessman and University of Missouri professor Fred Travis. The two own an Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt shop and will both own the Fazoli’s location.

“Fazoli’s offers high-quality food, great prices, a family-friendly atmosphere and more,” Swederska said. “It’s a perfect fit for Washington.” The chain’s record-setting sales performance, investments in menu development and a new building prototype, as well as its incentive program for new franchisees also convinced Travis and Swederska to open a Fazoli’s.

Like the Macon restaurant, the Washington site will use an all-new, contemporary prototype design that is a key element in Fazoli’s growth strategy. It incorporates a distinctive 35-foot tower that can be modified to meet local zoning restrictions. The prototype includes improved lighting to make the building more visible at night, prominent placement of the recognizable Fazoli’s tomato logo and a versatile color scheme that gives the brand a fresh, modern image. It was created to appeal to both a new generation of diners and long-time customers, as well as potential franchisees. Elements of it will be used in new non-traditional, in-line and end-cap units.
