Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery Debuts Modernized Prototype, Enhancing Entertainment

‘Best Looking Sports Pub You’ve Ever Seen’ Opens New Hometown Restaurant and Training Center

June 14, 2016 // Franchising.com // Tempe, Ariz. – More than 10 years after setting up shop in Tempe, Ariz., the Tilted Kilt, a sports Pub where “A Cold Beer Never Looked So Good”® pays homage to the old public houses of America, England, Scotland and Ireland by combining classic Celtic décor, sexy servers and traditional pub fare under one roof, plans to open a new prototype in its hometown on July 26. The new Tempe pub will feature the future plan for all Tilted Kilt pubs, designed to increase the fun and entertaining elements that guests come to expect.

The new 11,000-square foot pub, positioned in front of the restaurant’s corporate headquarters, will be able to entertain 225 guests inside and another 90 on a semi-covered outdoor patio featuring new pit-style soft seating surrounding beautiful fire and water structures. Guests will experience a new gaming area, a venue for live entertainment and be surrounded by a dozen 70-80 inch flat screen TVs for the best sports viewing experience.

The new pub looks strikingly different from the older units. While previous pubs used dark wainscot and trim, dark wood blinds and lower lighting, the new pub’s most obvious difference is simply a brighter appearance. The new prototype pub features lighter colored wood wainscot, window shades to allow for more light, cobble stone rock accent, strategically placed old Chicago firebrick, and charm pieces such as a 30 ft. by 20 ft. version of the pub’s traditional Irish Sea map that gives a distinct flavor of the old world.

The new Tilted Kilt is built for entertainment of all kinds. In addition to the standard televisions and live entertainment features, the new pubs will feature a TKTV “Crew Cam” which will allow real time viewing of food being prepared in the kitchen. From “Big Arse Burgers,” to salads such as the “Sirloin Steak Salad,” and ribs such as the “Big Rack,” slow-roasted, fork tender, seasoned St. Louis style pork ribs basted with Guinness® BBQ sauce, the Tilted Kilt is proud of its quality food and will provide a show while guests wait to dig in. The new pub will also harken back to its roots of having fun and entertaining pub style games with the reintroduction of pool tables, shuffle boards, darts and bags.

Further enhancing the entertainment features, the new prototype pub offers a variety of unique seating styles from high tops, raised booth seating, banquet seating in the “Poet’s Corner” for parties of 20, friendly community gatherings at the “Captain’s table,” and “Crew tables” - bright orange four legged six tops for close friends and family, in addition to bar seating. Upon entering the pub, guests will find a bar running down the middle of the restaurant designed to attract more guests with comfortable seating and features such as USB charging ports, in addition to encouraging more guest interaction with beer taps placed on the front, rather than the back, of the bar and a glass front cooler for an easy visual of bottled beer options.

“Our guests are in for a real treat. The new prototype design is aimed to enhance the fun and entertaining elements of our pub while providing exceptional service, products, and overall experience,” said Ron Lynch, president of the Tilted Kilt. “Additionally, the central location next to the corporate office will allow us to communicate efficiently with our current and prospective franchisees, managers and guests as we continue on our path of sustained growth throughout the United States and Canada.”

As the brand continues to expand, it has put a large emphasis on exceptional training. As part of this commitment, a new large training room has been built into the Tempe pub to provide franchisees and manger trainees an unparalleled hands-on educational experience. Trainees will have access to real in-pub style training designed to enhance management skills and labor efficiency to improve the overall guest experience.

The new opening comes just weeks after “The Best Looking Sports Pub You’ve Ever Seen”® announced franchise opportunities across the nation including Seattle, Portland, and various cities throughout Louisiana. The debut of the new prototype marks a monumental time for the prospering franchise. With more than 95 locations open, the Tilted Kilt continues to flourish and grow as people seek more convenient, casual dining options. With the entertainment restaurant industry on the rise, Tilted Kilt aims to open 10 additional pubs in 2016.
