Taco ‘Bout a Good Cause: R Taco® Donates 10% of Dallas and Denver Sales to Fight Hunger on National Taco Day

Street-Style Taco Restaurant Gives to Local Food Banks, Celebrates Customers with In-Store Giveaways

September 21, 2016 // Franchising.com // DENVER or DALLAS – R Taco, a distinctive fast-causal taco concept featuring flavorful street-style tacos, is celebrating National Taco Day by donating 10 percent of Dallas and Denver restaurant sales on October 4 to area food banks.

R Taco has pledged to donate 10 percent of food and non-alcoholic beverage sales to the North Texas Food Bank and the Food Bank of the Rockies. R Taco will also donate $1 for each check-in on the restaurant’s Yelp page and local Dallas and Denver Facebook pages on National Taco Day.

“At R Taco, food is something we are very passionate about. We’re also committed to supporting guests and neighbors, and National Taco Day presents the perfect opportunity to address the issue of hunger in our communities,” said Steve Dunn, CEO of R Taco. “Millions of Americans live with food insecurity, and we hope to help those in our communities while raising awareness and inviting our customers to participate on this food-focused holiday.”

In addition to supporting local food banks, R Taco will be celebrating National Taco Day with a welcoming in-store atmosphere, including gift card and merchandise giveaways as well as live entertainment at select stores for guests who dine in. Participating locations in Dallas include: Greenville Ave., Medical District, Oak Lawn, Preston Hollow, Denton and Mesquite. Participating Denver locations include Arvada and Littleton. will host a check presentation highlighting the final amount raised in partnership with Food Bank/Food Bank of the Rockies following National Taco Day.

As a similar initiative, R Taco restaurants located in Minnesota have also pledged to donate 10 R Taco North Texas percent of food and non-alcoholic beverage sales on October 4 to Second Harvest Heartland. Participating locations include: Maple Grove, Minneapolis and St. Paul.
