Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More® Announces Aggressive Growth Plan for Greater Tampa Bay Area

Growing Garment Decorating Franchise Seeks to Add Seven New Locations in 2017

DUNEDIN, Fla. - September 27, 2016 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More®, a locally-owned, high-technology garment decorating franchise where customers have the freedom to design their own apparel, is targeting the greater Tampa Bay area for development. With four locations, including its flagship store, already open and operating in the market, the growing garment decorating franchise has announced plans to open an additional seven locations through strategic franchise partnerships in 2017.

Kick starting its efforts, Big Frog is holding informational dinner seminars on October 12 and 13 at two Tampa local favorite restaurants. This is a great way to learn more about the Big Frog brand, culture and opportunities in the Tampa Bay market from the C-level leadership team, all while enjoying a fabulous meal and T-Shirt giveaways. Call 727-286-8985 for details.

As a strong community focused brand, the Tampa Bay region is especially significant to the Big Frog leadership team, not only because it is home to the first ever Big Frog location but also because of their loyalty as University of South Florida (USF) alumni. Seeking to become even more engrained in the community, Big Frog recently announced an exclusive sponsorship with USF to integrate itself with the Athletics Department while simultaneously contributing to the campus’ cancer awareness and fundraising initiative through the sale of T-Shirts.

“The greater Tampa Bay area means a great deal to our franchise development team as we strive to create positive community relations while remaining on the fast-track for growth,” said Dr. Tina Bacon-DeFrece, president of Big Frog. “We look forward to long-lasting partnerships with franchisees as we begin scouting sites to bring additional locations across the Tampa Bay area, providing a fun value-added experience for our customers as they experiment with colors, fonts, and graphics.”

New franchise partners will join the company of Donald Harrell, successful owner of the flagship location in Clearwater. Since Harrell took over Big Frog of Clearwater he has grown the revenue by 28 percent. Harrell, long-time friend of Big Frog CEO, Leeward Bean, came out of retirement to operate this hometown location. Harrell, a military veteran and Purple Heart recipient with a passion to better service his community, has extensive knowledge and expertise on how to successfully operate a Big Frog retail location. Target development markets in which the team is seeking franchise partners include New Tampa, Temple Terrace, Lakeland, South Tampa, Seminole, St. Petersburg, and Tyrone among others.

Since opening its first franchised location in 2008, Big Frog has grown exponentially. With more than 67 locations open in 24 states, the retailer is on track to open 10 new franchise locations by the end of 2016 and another 25 in 2017. As the $50 billion garment decorating industry continues to grow, Bacon-DeFrece believes that North America will be home to 300 Big Frog stores by 2020.

Big Frog combines creativity with cutting-edge technology and brings a personalized service to local markets. The unique design technology makes it a fast, individualized and convenient service that leaps beyond competition. The brand’s Direct to Garment (DTG) printing bonds the ink to the fabric’s molecules, allowing products to be washed in both hot and cold water and with color-safe bleach without risking damage of fading, cracking or peeling to the image.
