September 06, 2017 // Franchising.com // LAKEWOOD, Colo. - For nearly two years, Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, one of the nation’s fastest-growing and greenest carpet cleaning franchises, has supported Water.org’s efforts to end the global water crisis. To date, Oxi Fresh has donated $47,959 to the cause.
Since announcing its support of Water.org in October 2015, Oxi Fresh customers have been encouraged to book their carpet cleanings online, with a portion of each job being donated to Water.org. Thus far, 31,126 jobs have been booked online and have contributed to the donation efforts. The proceeds go towards Water.org’s mission to help the 663 million people worldwide who do not have access to safe water and sanitation. According to Water.org’s website, $25 helps provide safe water to one person. With the total amount Oxi Fresh has donated, the carpet cleaning franchise has helped provide safe water for 1,918 people so far.
“To be in business in this day and age, it is extremely important to be socially conscious and cause-oriented,” said Oxi Fresh founder and CEO Jonathan Barnett. “We have to play our part in improving the lives of the billions of people we share a planet with. We couldn’t be prouder of our contribution to providing basic human necessities and enabling a life of health and dignity to the world’s most vulnerable.”
The importance of water is nothing new to Oxi Fresh. In fact, water conservation has been one of the carpet cleaning company’s highest priorities since its inception in 2006. Oxi Fresh uses a low-moisture cleaning method that requires only 5% of the water used by other carpet cleaners.
“We at Oxi Fresh have always been committed to water conservation. For every home cleaned, our carpet cleaning franchises only need 2 gallons of water while other systems use up 40-60 gallons. That’s about 95% more water saved compared to other cleaners - a perfect example of water conservation in action,” added Barnett.
To date, Oxi Fresh has completed more than 768,328 jobs and saved more than 30,733,120 million gallons of water using its low-moisture carpet cleaning method.
“It’s shocking to me that more people have a mobile phone than a toilet. 663 million people lack access to safe water. Yet, water is crucial to life - we would not exist without it, we cannot survive without it and we cannot hope to thrive without safe, clean access to it,” Barnett said. “We want to do our part to change the statistics by continuing to support Water.org’s work and mission well into the future.”
