Scooter’s Coffee Adds Second Location to Blue Springs

New Store to Host Day of Giving for Jake Cavanaugh Foundation

October 03, 2017 // Franchising.com // Blue Springs, MO - Scooter’s Coffee, the Midwest-based coffee franchise that has experienced tremendous growth over the past year, has increased its Missouri presence with the company’s latest opening at 1310 NW 7 HWY. To recognize the tremendous support of the Blue Springs community, the location will be hosting a Day of Giving on Friday, October 6th for the Jake Cavanaugh Foundation. 100% of proceeds from the day will be donated to the Foundation and more specifically, to JW Heil, a 7-year-old battling stage 4 neuroblastoma.

“Scooter’s Coffee has become a staple of the Blue Springs community,” stated Rob Streett, President and Chief Operating Officer of Scooter’s Coffee. “We are excited to not only add another location to Blue Springs, but also to be able to raise money for such an important cause that is near and dear to residents of this community.”

Melanie Graeve and her daughter, Mackenzie Sykes, a Blue Springs High School alumni, will own and operate this location.

"The Blue Springs community has always been supportive of our South 7 Hwy Scooter's location, so we feel blessed to be able to bring our amazing coffee, espresso drinks and breakfast items to the north side of town. To celebrate our opening, we are honored to team up with the Jake Cavanaugh Foundation, stated Graeve. The Cavanaugh's have been our friends for over 15 years and we witnessed Jake's battle with cancer, and the hardships and heartache that went along with his illness. We are thankful to have the opportunity to spend a day honoring Jake's loving, vibrant spirit while assisting JW's family in their current fight."

The Jake Cavanaugh Foundation provides funding for support to children and families affected by cancer and has been able to give more than $98,000 to local families whose children are battling cancer.

"We are so grateful for the opportunity to be able to support the Jake Cavanaugh Foundation,” stated Sykes. The Cavanaugh's have been our close family friends since I was in third grade. They are wonderful people with such big hearts, and it is amazing to be able to remember Jake as we support another local family fighting childhood cancer."
