October 10, 2017 // Franchising.com // DUNEDIN, Fla. – Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More®, a locally-owned, high-technology garment decorating retail franchise where customers have the freedom to design their own apparel, announced today industry veteran Ken Karcher as Director of Business Development. A new position created to elevate Big Frog’s franchise development strategy, Karcher will assist in vetting franchise candidates and working with vendors to improve product and service offerings as the brand looks to surpass 100 units sold by end of year.
Karcher joins the Big Frog family after 25+ years in the FDM (Food, Drug & Mass) sectors, calling on retail headquarters such as Walmart, Kroger, Target, Toys R Us and national drug store and convenience store chains. In addition, he worked to develop and maintain a national sales force specializing in business development and account management at the store and corporate level. In his newest role, Karcher looks to leverage this experience to develop and drive sales at all Big Frog store fronts while simultaneously working with vendors to develop synergistic and meaningful relationships.
“This is such an exciting time to become a member of the Big Frog family,” said Karcher. “In less than 10 years, this brand is poised to hit the 100-unit milestone, a feat not reached by many in the franchising space. I look forward to contributing to the brand’s evolution through franchise development initiatives and sharing in the success of this dynamic franchise system.”
Since opening its first franchised location in 2009, Big Frog has grown exponentially. With more than 80 locations open in 22 states and seven locations in different stages of development, the retailer is on track to have 100 stores awarded by year’s end. As the $50 billion garment decorating industry continues to grow, Big Frog believes that North America will be home to 300 Big Frog stores by 2020.
“A recognized leader in the business development space, Ken is the perfect addition to our growing development team,” said Tina Bacon-DeFrece, President of Big Frog. “As we set the bar higher in the coming New Year, we’re confident in Ken’s ability to help us achieve those goals swiftly and efficiently.”
Big Frog combines creativity with cutting-edge technology and brings a personalized service to local markets. The unique design technology makes it a fast, individualized and convenient service that leaps beyond competition. The brand’s Direct to Garment (DTG) printing bonds the dye to the fabric’s molecules, allowing products to be washed in both hot and cold water and with color-safe bleaching without risking fading, cracking or peeling of the image.
