ZIPS Dry Cleaners Inks Agreement for Five Stores in Tampa Bay

October 18, 2017 // Franchising.com // GREENBELT, Md. - ZIPS Dry Cleaners has signed a franchise agreement for the development of five stores throughout greater Tampa Bay.

The five Tampa-area stores will be owned and operated by Michael Montante. No stranger to franchising, Montante previously spent nearly 10 years as a McDonald’s multi-unit operator.

He plans to develop his stores throughout Hillsborough County.

“ZIPS has built a special brand and has a truly unique model within the dry cleaning industry. This is the future of dry cleaning, and we know that Tampa residents will appreciate fast and outstanding service at a better, straightforward price,” said Montante. “I was attracted to ZIPS because dry cleaning is something that most of us need, and I’m excited to deliver a lot of value to customers who use our service.”

At ZIPS, a customer can have any item of clothing dry cleaned for $2.29. It doesn’t matter if the item is a necktie, a coat or a pair of pants, the price is $2.29, two times less expensive than the industry average. Garments are cleaned on-site, allowing for same-day service.

“You walk in, and you know exactly what you are going to pay,” Montante added. “The model is very simple. There are no add-on prices. You bring it in by 9 a.m., and you have it by 5 p.m. the same day.”

In addition, in today’s increasingly “green-conscious" society, ZIPS has invested in a closed-cleaning system that reduces waste, uses biodegradable plastic bags and recycles hangers.
