The Habit Burger Grill Raises Over $585,000 To Fight Childhood Hunger With Support From Alt 98.7’s The Woody Show

Funds will help No Kid Hungry Provide Nearly Six Million Meals to Kids in Need

May 14, 2018 // Franchising.com // IRVINE, CA - The Habit Restaurant, Inc. (Nasdaq: HABT) teamed up with ALT 98.7’s The Woody Show to help put an end to childhood hunger, raising more than $585,000 to help No Kid Hungry provide nearly six million meals to kids and families who are unsure of where their next meal is coming from.

For the third year in a row, The Habit participated in Dine Out for No Kid Hungry, a national, restaurant-led campaign that raises critical funds and awareness about childhood hunger in America. Over the course of three years, The Habit Burger Grill has donated more than $1.2 million to No Kid Hungry in their mission to end childhood hunger in the US. This year The Habit also partnered with ALT 98.7’s The Woody Show to spread the word about the fundraiser through the radio show, social media, events and the station’s #ALLIN sticker campaign. The Woody Show contributed an additional $2,500 to the effort.

“Together with our guests we are honored to support children and families in need across the country,” said Russ Bendel, CEO of The Habit Burger Grill. “We want to thank every one of our guests who donated in support of this effort. It will make a difference.”

“We are incredibly grateful for the support from The Habit Burger Grill and the Woody Show during this year’s Dine Out for No Kid Hungry campaign,” said Diana Hovey, Senior Vice President of Dine Out for No Kid Hungry. “The Habit Burger Grill has been an amazing partner for the last three years, and the collaboration with The Woody Show helped them surpass their goals and beat their 2016 fundraising total. With the help of committed partners like The Habit Burger Grill, No Kid Hungry is helping children in need all over the country get the food they need to succeed.”

“We were ecstatic to have teamed up again with The Habit and No Kid Hungry to help end childhood hunger this past September. We are more than honored to be a part of raising $585,000 for No Kid Hungry and to help provide 5.8 million meals to kids in need. We can’t begin to thank enough for helping us exceed the fundraising goal this year.”

The purpose of No Kid Hungry is to make childhood hunger a thing of the past. In partnership with local programs, No Kid Hungry provides meals, and works with families on how to shop on a budget and cook healthier meals.
