Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids Opening in Spotswood

Aims to make haircuts more relaxing for both kids and parents.

July 02, 2018 // Franchising.com // Salt Lake City, Utah – Children’s haircuts are more fun than ever now that Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids is coming to Spotswood.

Located at 85 Old Stage Road, the new salon is slated to open later this summer and is the first of three that local husband and wife team Candace and Jerome Barnes plan to own. The salon will service Spotswood and its surrounding areas.

“As parents of a three year old, I’ve experienced first-hand the anxiety associated with children’s haircuts and I am excited to own a business that makes the experience fun for kids and stress-free for parents,” said Candace Barnes. “I’m eager to introduce the Cookie Cutters brand to the Spotswood community, and help parents find a salon that understands and caters to different hair needs.”

Coming from a background in leadership, Candace possesses over 13 years of supply chain management, purchasing and human resources, and Jerome has experience as an Army veteran along with knowledge of supply chain and operation from previous positions with major corporations, such as GE, Case New Holland and Rockwell Automation. Together their experiences in supply chain and human resources combined with their ambition, passion and entrepreneurial spirit are a winning combination for success.

“Cookie Cutters is a concept that was created for kids, but it mostly benefits the parents,” said Jerome Barnes. “We’re excited to help the brand grow here and make visits to the salon a more pleasant experience for everyone.”

Cookie Cutters offers an interactive haircut experience that both children and parents won’t soon forget. Upon entering the salon, children are welcomed by an in-store playground where they can climb and slide. Come time for the haircut, each station on the cutting floor is outfitted with unique fantasy chairs – from race cars to motorcycles, firetrucks to airplanes – as well as televisions for the kids to watch shows. With a balloon, sucker and a smile at the end of each haircut, the Cookie Cutters experience is designed to keep children coming back again and again.

“Little ones can be terrified by the haircut experience – the loud buzz of clippers, the confinement in a chair, the orders from a stranger to sit still. Cookie Cutters has designed its approach to put children at ease,” Candace added. “Nothing in the salon will be scary or intrusive for a child. Our goal is to provide all children, including those with special needs or sensory sensitivities, with an enjoyable experience, pleasant memories and the desire to keep coming back.”

Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids in Spotswood is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
