Wayback Burgers and Franchisee Owners Already Raise More Than $44,000 Toward Long-Term Pledge for Boys & Girls Clubs of America

From Promotions and Donations to Milkshake Recipes, Partnership Between America’s Favorite Hometown Burger Joint and Iconic Organization Keeps Growing

December 17, 2018 // Franchising.com // Cheshire, CT - Wayback Burgers, America’s Favorite Hometown Burger Joint and one of the nation’s fastest growing burger franchises, boosted its partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America this fall through a series of programs, events and promotions. This exciting partnership launched in August 2018 and has already raised more than $44,000 in donations for the national organization and a local chapter in Connecticut, just part of the company’s long-term commitment to backing the iconic not-for-profit leader.

The multi-faceted partnership between Wayback Burgers and Boys & Girls Clubs of America took on several new dimensions this fall. To further the commitment by the company and its franchise partners, they have pledged to make an annual donation of up to $150,000, with a minimum of $100,000, for each of the next two years through several major initiatives and fundraisers.

Beyond donations, the partnership has already yielded a creative aspect that demonstrates the shared synergies between Wayback Burgers and Boys & Girls Clubs. Members of the Bristol Boys & Girls Club Association in Bristol, CT, entered their own milkshake recipes in a contest that Wayback Burgers held for them at the company’s 2018 franchisee convention and trade show in October in Uncasville, CT. The winning shake was Cotton Candy Crushin’, created by Bianca, a local Club kid in Bristol, CT. Her recipe included vanilla ice cream, milk, and red or blue cotton candy, with whipped cream and Skittles on top.

The milkshake contest was so successful that Wayback Burgers and Boys & Girls Clubs of America will launch a national version in January 2019. Up to 10 new and exciting flavors developed by Boys & Girls Club members will be put on display across Wayback’s website, app and social properties for loyal guests to vote on. The winning shake will be found in all participating restaurants as a summertime limited-time-offer.

Other major activations and elements of the partnership so far have included:

  • A contribution of more than $20,000 from every burger and sandwich sold in Wayback’s restaurants during the third quarter of 2018.
  • A donation of nearly $18,000 from the proceeds of a national fundraising day and back-to-school promotion that the company and its franchisees conducted in August. Half the donation came from the Wayback Burgers corporate team and half from Wayback franchisees.
  • A contribution to the Bristol Boys & Girls Club Association of $3,200 collected at the Wayback Burgers convention, through raffle-ticket sale and donations.

“We are now fully immersed in our important commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and we are happy to support a group that has always represented the very best intentions - and generated fantastic results - among national organizations dedicated to helping our nation’s kids,” said John Eucalitto, CEO of Wayback Burgers.

Chad Royal-Pascoe, National Vice President of Corporate and Cause Partnerships at Boys & Girls Clubs of America, said, “We are grateful to see how Wayback Burgers and its franchisees are helping to ensure that kids and teens in our Clubs have the resources they need to have a successful life. We couldn’t help Club members build brighter futures without the support of committed partners, such as Wayback Burgers.”
