Goldfish Swim School Unveils Holiday Giveback Sweepstakes of Olympic Proportions

Win a Day with Three-Time Gold Medalist Ryan Murphy while Benefiting USA Swimming Foundation

November 01, 2019 // Franchising.com // TROY, MI - Just in time for the holidays, Goldfish Swim School Franchising, LLC, the leading premier learn-to-swim franchise concept, announced its newest ‘Float It Forward’ fundraising campaign, Gift the Gold Medal Experience – A Sweepstakes of Olympic Proportions, where one lucky winner will have the chance to spend a day with three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Ryan Murphy.

As an official partner of the USA Swimming Foundation, the philanthropic arm of USA Swimming, Goldfish Swim School will raise funds for the organization by offering sweepstakes tickets for members to purchase. Each ticket will count as an entry toward winning an afternoon with Olympian Ryan Murphy, with all ticket proceeds being donated as part of the brand’s commitment to raising $1 million for the USA Swimming Foundation’s ‘Make a Splash’ initiative. The organization supports swim lesson providers with resources, materials and grant funding to allow for the opportunity for every child across the country to learn to swim.

‘Float It Forward’ tickets will be available for members to purchase for donations from November 1, 2019 to January 5, 2020. Each ticket will have a unique scratch-off code that can be entered online at goldfishswimschool.com/gift-the-gold. Local community members are encouraged to follow their participating Goldfish Swim School on social media for more ways to earn tickets. Winners will be announced January 6, 2020 via Goldfish Swim School Franchising’s Facebook Page. The winning child, along with three family members or friends, will win an afternoon with Ryan Murphy, including a swim lesson, lunch and the chance to ask the Olympic swimmer their most pressing questions. Runner up prizes include pool parties and Goldfish Swim School swag.

“Swimming has been such a huge part of my life from a young age and I’m so honored to have the opportunity to meet with the lucky winners and inspire them to achieve their dreams,” shared Murphy, who is busy training for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. “Being able to do what I love while making a difference and helping kids learn to swim is absolutely amazing. Myself, USA Swimming Foundation and Goldfish Swim School have been working hard to find ways to raise money for children who lack the opportunity to learn to swim. Every dollar raised helps build their knowledge, skills, and confidence all while having fun and staying safer in and around the water.”

As drowning remains the number one cause of injury-related death among children ages 1-4, Goldfish Swim School and Ryan Murphy are committed to making a positive impact to help lower these staggering statistics through their joint work with the USA Swimming Foundation. Since sharing the news of the brand’s charitable partnership at its 2018 franchise conference, Goldfish Swim School has donated more than $200,000. Its ‘Float It Forward’ fundraising campaign was recently recognized by the International Franchise Association, receiving the “Franchising Gives Back Gold Newcomer Award” for outstanding contributions to the community. The Gift the Gold Medal Experience sweepstakes aims to build on this success, ramping up fundraising efforts to further support the great work that continues to be achieved by the Foundation.

“Ryan Murphy isn’t just a talented athlete, he’s a great role model. And, since so many of our Goldfish kids look up to him, I can’t wait to award one of them the opportunity to meet him all while giving back to a great cause,” said Jenny McCuiston, Co-Founder of Goldfish Swim School. “Our partnership with the USA Swimming Foundation only continues to strengthen. It’s a fun, impactful way to bring our communities together, get families excited, and really make a difference in the lives of families and children across the country by providing them an opportunity to learn to swim,” added Chris McCuiston, CEO & Co-Founder of Goldfish Swim School.
