MADabolic Inks Deal to Open Strength-Driven Fitness Concept in Charlottesville

Premier Strength and Conditioning Brand Announces Signed Agreement for Second Virginia Location

February 10, 2020 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – MADabolic, the first and only strength-driven interval training franchise announces its newly signed agreement to bring its concept back to Charlottesville. This will be the second MADabolic location in Virginia, joining the Arlington gym. For local fitness enthusiasts committed to finding a new standard for group fitness, MADabolic is the first of its kind. The studio will be locally owned and operated by husband and wife duo, Todd and Kirsten Lorenger.

“A few years ago, we made the strategic decision to leave the Charlottesville market until we could find the right franchise partners. What made this move even more difficult was that the Charlottesville community was so committed to the MAD lifestyle. Today we are so excited to return with new, dynamic and focused owners. We’ve known Todd and Kirsten since the very beginning days in Charlottesville. They are great people, plain and simple. Our organization is even stronger with them on our team,” said Brandon Cullen, Co-Founder of MADabolic.

“The MADabolic concept is unlike any other fitness option out there. Fitness has always been an integral part of our lives, as we are both former athletes who still want to experience the same intense training as we did in our playing days” said Kirsten. “After experiencing MADabolic ourselves at the original location, we knew it was something special and that we needed to bring back to the community.”

Kirsten has an extensive background in retail management and as a fitness trainer, bringing ample experience in management and the fitness industry to MADabolic.

Founded in Charlotte, N.C. by former professional hockey players Brandon Cullen and Kirk Dewaele, MADabolic’s distinctive strength-focused concept attracts an established community of high-achieving individuals defined by their disciplined and self-motivating nature who prioritize health and fitness. Rather than over-emphasizing cardio, MADabolic treats strength as its base. This purposeful approach provides results that are unmatched in the fitness industry.

“Too often in today’s fitness culture, consumers are led to believe that more is always better, when in actuality, better is better,” said Cullen. “With this signed agreement, we are confident that Kirsten and Todd will create a passionate, enthusiastic following in the Charlottesville market.”

MADabolic’s distinctive interval system is crafted entirely around work-to-rest ratios, which presents a challenging-yet-accessible environment unique to each client. Each 50-minute class includes a detailed description of the workout, an in-depth demonstration of each movement, and a carefully structured warmup to match the specific demands of the daily workout.

MADabolic believes in the value of routine, which fosters a results-driven culture that attracts high-achievers who value structure, accountability and results.

The signed agreement in Charlottesville comes as MADabolic continues to strengthen its system through franchising into key markets across the United States, including Raleigh, Arlington, D.C., Austin, Asheville, Greenville, Atlanta and Charlotte. The fitness brand is actively seeking qualified franchise prospects with a vested interest in strength and interval training, as well as a connection to their local fitness community. They should also be willing to be hands-on with their business and confident in their ability to make it stand out in their market using the tools and resources provided by the MADabolic corporate team.

Ideal MADabolic franchisees are self-motivated, driven and passionate individuals that their members can look up to as a role model, ranging from former professional athletes to everyday fitness enthusiasts.
