Zaxby’s spreads its wings in Greenville, AL

Long-term licensee opens fourth location with plans for more

August 20, 2020 // Franchising.com // ATHENS, Ga. - The first Zaxby’s in Greenville, Alabama is coming to 900 Fort Dale Road. A fan favorite for chicken fingers, wings and signature sauces, the new fast-casual restaurant will be the fourth location owned and operated by Zaxby’s licensee Nick Carter, who has been with the brand for many years. The Greenville Zaxby’s is scheduled to open for drive-thru and curbside pick-up only on Monday, Aug. 24. A subsequent grand opening of the dining room will happen later pursuant to state and federal guidance.

“I have been with the Zaxby’s brand since I was 20 years old,” Carter said. “I started out as a cook in Macon, Georgia in 2000 and opened my first location in 2008. This community and Mayor McLendon have been fantastic to work with, and they’ve helped us at every turn. We hope to return the favor and are proud to be opening a restaurant in Greenville.”

The 3,600 square-foot Zaxby’s uses the brand’s farmhouse style design with a red exterior and rustic interior. The new Zaxby’s location will use a new tablet ordering system to help ensure customers can be served as quickly as possible. Patrons may order ahead online via zaxbys.com or the Zaxby’s app and pick up their meals curbside.

An alternative to fast food, Zaxby’s offers fresh, prepared-at-order, hand-breaded Chicken Fingerz and Wings made in a variety of nine sauces. The menu also features four Zalads, eight sandwiches and complementary Shareables including Fried White Cheddar Bites, Tater Chips, Spicy Fried Mushrooms, and, for a limited time, Fried Pickles.

Zaxby’s recently relaunched its Zensation Zalad and Zensation Fillet Sandwich available until Oct. 9 at participating locations while supplies last. The salad includes hand-breaded Chicken Fingerz, mixed greens, red cabbage, carrots and wontons topped with Asian slaw and drizzled with a honey sesame teriyaki glaze, served with citrus vinaigrette dressing and a vegetable eggroll. The Fillet Sandwich meal contains Zaxby’s hand-breaded fillet, Asian slaw and wontons served with citrus vinaigrette on Texas toast with a 22-ounce drink and an eggroll.

The Greenville Zaxby’s will provide about 50 new jobs. Those interested in employment opportunities may apply onsite in person or via the location’s Facebook page.

The licensee’s other Zaxby’s are in Enterprise and Ozark, Alabama as well as Hammond, Louisiana.
