Mayweather Boxing + Fitness Opens First Michigan Studio

Best Workout on the Market Comes to Birmingham Amidst COVID-19 Challenges

November 24, 2020 // Franchising.com // Birmingham, MI - Mayweather Boxing + Fitness - a group fitness and boxing experience created by legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather - announced the opening of their first Michigan Studio on December 12, 2020 at 34000 Woodward Drive Birmingham, MI 48009. The Studio will be led by franchisees Rod and Paloma Blanes, and will be the first of many regional Studio openings as the brand continues to see rapid expansion.

“The Mayweather brand has achieved massive growth this year, with substantial opportunities having arisen for our franchisees from the impact of the Coronavirus. We are excited to tap into the Michigan market and see the same success as the other new Studios we've opened this year,” said James Williams, CEO of Mayweather Boxing + Fitness. “Rod and Paloma have been seamless additions to the Mayweather group, with a passion for our model and values, and uniquely impressive backgrounds to drive us forward.”

Franchisee and Studio Owner Rod Blanes brings a diverse career background to the Mayweather team, with experience primarily based in real estate investing. Rod has also served as a commercial pilot since 2004, most recently holding the position as a Boeing 717 Delta Airlines Captain. A lifelong passion for boxing and fitness, Blanes will lead the Birmingham Studio and plans to open several more franchises in surrounding markets.

“Mayweather Boxing + Fitness offers an incredible workout in a high energy environment, which makes fitness exciting and fun for our members,” said Rod. “It’s Paloma’s and my goal to grow the brand in regional markets and share this excitement with locals to show them how gratifying health and fitness can be.”

Longtime boxing fanatic and partnering franchisee Paloma Blanes will serve as the Studio Manager, bringing fitness experience in circuit training and CrossFit. Paloma also offers knowledge in real estate investing, and currently serves as a 911 Police Dispatcher. At the Birmingham Studio, she will manage day-to-day operations, client relations and more.

Birmingham’s Head Instructor, Alexander Lewis, will lead the team of talented Studio trainers. Alexander brings many notable athletic achievements, having previously spent four years as Linebacker for the Detroit Lions, and earning a professional Boxing record of 1-0 K.O.

Mayweather Boxing + Fitness has continued to achieve success and growth this year and will be opening multiple Studios each month throughout 2021, with leases already signed and locations being built out for 20 additional Studios across the nation. Since its first year of rolling out its franchise program, Mayweather Boxing + Fitness has become one of the fastest growing new fitness franchise brands ever.
