Pizza Factory is Growing into Georgia with First Southeast Signed Agreement

West Coast Pizzeria Moving into New State with Longtime Fan Turned Entrepreneur

April 14, 2021 // Franchising.com // ATHENS, Georgia - Pizza Factory is bringing its iconic hometown pizzeria to Georgia. A West Coast legend with 100-plus locations, the brand is celebrating a milestone signed agreement for the first Southeast location. Local entrepreneur, dedicated veteran and Pizza Factory fan Brandon Broadwell, will be opening the state’s first Pizza Factory in Athens.

Broadwell first became familiar with the concept when he lived in Temecula, California. He became a regular at the town’s Pizza Factory, which happened to be owned by the now CEO, Mary Jane Riva. Since then, Broadwell has been a serial entrepreneur, starting his own business in the vending service industry, which he helped run for 10 years. Now, after selling his company, he looks forward to growing with Pizza Factory and bringing the brand into Georgia.

“I have always had the entrepreneurial sprint,” said Broadwell. “Having my own business is such a rewarding feeling. Knowing that I’m able to provide satisfaction to customers and help create career moves for hard-working employees, is a driving force for me. These business ownership fundamentals were a deciding factor for why I chose Pizza Factory. The brand’s attention to detail, truly caring about the product and customers while also maintaining a community-centered culture, are all powerful brand characteristics that I identify with. I’m extremely excited to open the first Pizza Factory in Georgia and look forward to growing alongside the brand in the future.”

From multiple fast-casual prototypes to a new Express quick-service model, Pizza Factory maintains its reputation for family-friendly dining and high-quality products. The brand specializes in its vast menu offerings, serving fresh, never frozen hand-tossed pizza, pasta, wings, sandwiches, salads, beer, wine and more. As Pizza Factory continues to develop into new markets, the brand is providing multi-unit operators flexible new-build or conversion options with delivery / curbside and traditional dine-in prototypes ranging from 1,000 - 4,000 sq. ft. The largest option typically features multiple dining sections, an arcade area for the kids, banquet rooms for parties and social gatherings and big-screen TVs throughout the restaurant.

“It’s amazing to see the rate that Pizza Factory is growing,” said Pizza Factory CEO Mary Jane Riva. “Having an established entrepreneur and fan of the brand, like Brandon, leading the charge for our expansion in Georgia is exciting to see. I know that Brandon upholds our values seamlessly and I could not think of a better-suited person to open up our first Georgia store in Athens. I’m more than confident the community will be in good hands with Brandon and that our awesome concept will thrive in a new market.”

With aggressive development efforts underway, Pizza Factory is actively growing across the nation and seeking multi-unit operators to develop within Georgia and the Southeast. Additionally, the brand has a special development focus on California, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Texas, Wyoming and Washington.
