PACK & SEND Announces New Country Manager and Posts Record Sales & Profits

July 26, 2021 // Franchising.com // Sydney, Australia - PACK & SEND - a recognised brand in Australia, New Zealand and UK in the Shipping and Logistics service industry - has announced it will promote the current Chief Operating Officer to replace retiring CEO and founder Michael Paul.

Effective September 1, Nicholas Woodward will be elevated to Country Manager from his current COO position. Mr Woodward’s new responsibility includes not only Australia, but also overseeing the growth and support of PACK & SEND international master franchisees in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

Mr Woodward is an experienced PACK & SEND hand, having started at the company in 2005 and was an instrumental member of the senior leadership team during a period that saw outstanding innovation and growth for the brand. In 2020 he was ranked the #2 Franchise Executive in Australia from the "Top 30 Franchise Executive Report". He also serves as the Deputy President for the Franchise Council of Australia NSW Chapter.

Mr Woodward’s appointment follows the acquisition of PACK & SEND in March 2021 by MBE Worldwide. MBE Region Vice President Alberto Sacchetti said: “the organisation had been seeking an internal candidate to replace Mr Paul and that Mr Woodward’s long-term experience meant he understood the drivers of PACK & SEND’s strong success to date.”

“PACK & SEND is certainly in great hands, given the foundation laid with Michael Paul’s leadership, the support of MBE Worldwide global infrastructure, and a path into the future guided by Nicholas and the rest of the Sydney Head Office support team” said Mr Sacchetti.

The leadership announcement comes as PACK & SEND continues to reap the benefits of changing commerce and consumer behaviour that is resulting in strong demand for ecommerce fulfillment solutions. PACK & SEND posted a record breaking FY2020/21 global system-wide sales of AUD $82.4 million, representing an increase of 32% over the prior corresponding period.

PACK & SEND franchisees also reported substantial lifts in profits in FY2020/21 as sales grew on a business model with relatively fixed operating costs. The strong sales and profit performance helped stimulate the record sales of 21 franchises in FY2020/21, including 8 existing franchisees who made the investment to acquire their 2nd or 3rd Service Centre.

Mr Woodward said he was aiming to build on Pack & Send’s current strong position with further innovation. “The market we serve is very significant and we are uniquely positioned with our brand, service centre network, technology and dedicated and committed franchise partners to introduce further high-quality innovative logistics solutions to the ecommerce market” said Mr Woodward.
