Scooter’s Coffee Honored By Major Publications - Ranked Among Top Franchises

Nebraska-Based Drive-Thru Coffee Franchise Honored in Both Entrepreneur Franchise 500® and Franchise Times Fast & Serious Lists

January 20, 2022 // Franchising.com // OMAHA, Neb. - Scooter’s Coffee has been recognized as a leading franchise in multiple major publications. Taking the No. 3 spot on the Franchise Times Fast & Serious List, the brand made a substantial jump in ranking from No. 29 last year to breaking into the top five this year. Scooter’s Coffee was also recognized as one of the top 500 franchises in Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500, coming in at No. 66 for its outstanding performance in areas including unit growth, financial strength and stability, and brand power. Last year, Scooter’s Coffee ranked at No. 103.

“We’re quite humbled to be ranked among many incredible other companies,” said Kelly Crummer, Senior Director of Franchise Recruitment. “To be included on the Entrepreneur Franchise 500 and the Franchise Times Fast & Serious lists is a huge honor for us. It really speaks to the strength of the Scooter’s Coffee brand and the determination and commitment from our franchisees.”

In Entrepreneur’s continuing effort to best understand and evaluate the ever-changing franchise marketplace, the company’s 43-year-old ranking formula continues to evolve as well. The editorial team researches and assesses several factors that go into the evaluation, including costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability. Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500 in ranking order.

To curate the Fast & Serious list, Franchise Times created a proprietary 10-point formula to identify fast-growing franchise systems projected to be in business for many years to come, weeding out any potential one-hit wonders. The formula included percentage sales growth, percentage unit growth, dollar sales growth, and numerical unit growth over the past three years.

Scooter’s Coffee recently opened its 400th location, having only hit the 300-store milestone at the end of 2020. “Our team has worked hard over the last few years to help our franchisees and our whole system grow,” said Crummer. “It’s great to see all of that hard work being recognized.”
