Vitality Bowls Makes Its Mark on The Franchise Times Top 500 List

October 26, 2022 // Franchising.com // DANVILLE, Calif. - Superfood Café, Vitality Bowls, announced today it has been named #463 on the 2022 Franchise Times’ Top 500 list.

In 2021 alone, Vitality Bowl’s sales grew by 28.7%, surpassing $37 million and experienced 1.4% unit growth. With 75 locations across the United States, the company is currently on pace to set a systemwide sales record in 2022, shattering 2021’s performance.

Previously the Top 400, Franchise Times expanded its annual ranking to 500 of the largest U.S.- based franchise systems by global systemwide sales to better encompass the biggest brands in franchising, along with promising young concepts in growth mode. The project is the result of a five-month research and reporting effort that leads to the most credible and objective franchise ranking available, said Franchise Times Editor in Chief Laura Michaels.

The collection of systemwide sales data also provides useful insight into the franchise industry’s performance coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Every segment gained ground in 2021, with some getting back to or even surpassing pre-pandemic sales.

Vitality Bowls offers a variety of açaí bowls, smoothies, wraps, grain bowls, panini and salads. Roy and Tara Gilad founded the company after finding out about their daughter’s severe food allergies and need to find healthy alternatives. The first Vitality Bowls location opened in San Ramon, California, in 2011.
