Scooter’s Coffee Continues Growing in Tennessee

Two Couples Sign Multi-Unit Agreement with National Coffee Brand

November 17, 2022 // Franchising.com // OMAHA, Neb. - Scooter’s Coffee, LLC, the Midwest-based drive-thru coffee franchise experiencing record-breaking growth throughout the U.S., bringing its world-class drive-thru coffee locations to Nashville, Tennessee.

The expansion into the communities east of Nashville is the result of a three-unit franchise agreement signed by area residents Mike & Hilary Lorrain and Aaron & Mary Joyce. The two couples met when their children attended pre-school together and had been talking about franchising.

Mike currently works for a mobile application company that lets people earn rewards for purchases at restaurants and retailers. He met with the Scooter’s Coffee VP of Marketing to propose Scooter’s running offers on the platform and was really impressed by what he learned about them. “The drive-thru model, their ‘be amazing’ mantra, even how they source their coffee,” Mike Lorrain said. “A lightbulb went off. They got this thing figured out so well — we need to invest in Scooter’s Coffee.”

Scooter’s Coffee, based in Omaha, Nebraska, specializes in artisan espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, baked-from-scratch pastries and features its signature drink, the Caramelicious®. The company also recently added depth to its profile with a line of organic hot and iced teas, single-origin coffee and Cold Brew & Cream.

According to the latest market trends compiled by the National Coffee Association, 60% of Americans drank coffee in the past day. That’s more than reported drinking tea, juice, soda, or even tap water! And the number of people who reported buying coffee at a coffee shop or restaurant has risen 20% since January of 2021. The drive-thru coffee model, already popular in our fast-paced society, has boomed during the pandemic, giving customers a way to get a delicious beverage while staying socially distant. Scooter’s Coffee kiosks, with the brand promise of “Amazing People, Amazing Drinks… Amazingly Fast!®,” are helping Americans meet that demand.

“We are really excited about working with Scooter’s Coffee,” said Hillary Lorrain. “We are looking forward to bringing the Scooter’s Coffee vibe to Nashville and giving residents more options for their morning coffee.”

“Our brand is a great addition to the Nashville area,” said Kelly Crummer, Scooter’s Coffee Senior Director of Franchise Recruitment. “We’re elated to have such enthusiastic franchisees like the Lorrains and the Joyces contributing to our expansion.”
