March 10, 2023 // // OMAHA, Neb. - Inc. magazine revealed that Scooter’s Coffee is No. 219 on its third annual Inc. 5000 Regionals: Midwest list. The list is a ranking of the fastest-growing private companies based in the midwestern states of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The list recognizes the companies’ innovations in generating sustainable growth.

“We are proud to have been recognized by Inc. magazine for rapid growth as we continue our efforts to spread the Scooter’s Coffee brand across the Midwest as well as the rest of the nation,” said Joe Thornton, President of Scooter’s Coffee. “Since we started in 1998, we’ve gone from a single store to almost 600 in 30 states and are on track to have 1,000 locations by the middle of 2024.”

The companies on the list show a remarkable rate of growth across all industries in the Midwest region. Between 2019 and 2021, they had an average growth rate of 535%, and in 2021 alone, they added 22,750 jobs and nearly $13.9 billion to the Midwest region’s economy. Companies based in the Chicago, Illinois; Noblesville, Indiana; and Overland Park, Kansas areas had the highest growth rates overall.

“This year’s Inc. 5000 Regional winners represent one of the most exceptional and exciting lists of America’s off-the-charts growth companies. They’re disrupters and job creators, and all delivered an outsize impact on the economy. Remember their names and follow their lead. These are the companies you’ll be hearing about for years to come,” said Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. magazine.
