Beloved chicken brand Zaxby’s opens new restaurant in Horry County

June 06, 2023 // Franchising.com // ATHENS, Ga. - Saucy chicken chain Zaxby's® is opening its first restaurant in Murrells Inlet, S.C. at 11872 Hwy. 707. The new Zaxby's is owned and operated by Big Rooster, Inc. and will open for drive-thru and dine-in on Monday, June 12.

“We are very excited to finally bring our first Zaxby’s to Murrells Inlet and to be able to serve our delicious chicken fingers and wings to the surrounding community,” said Greg Cater, owner of Big Rooster, Inc. “We look forward to being a good steward and better neighbor to the community and are hopeful to expand our footprint here even further with more locations in the future.”

The restaurant will feature Zaxby’s new farmhouse-style design with a white exterior, a first for Zaxby’s in the surrounding area. It will provide indoor seating available for up to 52 guests and offer expedited drive-thru service with a new double drive-thru layout for faster pay and pickup. For even faster service, customers may also order ahead online as well as through the new Zaxby’s app available for download on Google Play and the App Store. Ordering delivery will be available through DoorDash and UberEats, as well as directly through the Zaxby’s app beginning June 12.

An alternative to fast food, Zaxby's serves fresh, prepared-at-order Chicken Fingerz and wings tossed in a variety of bold and spicy sauces. The menu features the brand’s famous Signature Sandwich, its iconic Fried Pickles and the fan-favorite Loaded Fries. For a limited time, brand fans can still enjoy a free Big Zax Snak® Meal when downloading or updating the app and signing up for the new Zax Rewardz™ program for the first time.

Big Rooster, Inc., is owned by Greg Cater, Camilla Cater, Shonta Drake and Gary Drake in the third generation of the family. An experienced Zaxby’s franchise of 20 years, it already operates two locations in Charleston, S.C.
