Sport Clips Haircuts debuts 2023 Artistic Team Collection

July 21, 2023 // Franchising.com // GEORGETOWN, Texas -- The Sport Clips Haircuts Artistic Team recently debuted its 2023 Collection, a custom compilation of trending hairstyles geared to men and boys. The release happens every two years for inspiration and training as a part of the specialized, ongoing education designed for professional stylists within the Sport Clips system. Coaches received hands-on training for these looks at Sport Clips National Huddle in the spring and are now incorporating the techniques into their class offerings in markets around the country and in Canada.

To be a part of the Artistic Team, Sport Clips stylists try out and are selected by industry professionals to represent the brand at shows and system events. Three of the team's members were asked to develop new looks for this season's Collection. This selection of looks intentionally features a variety of hair lengths so stylists can keep their skills fresh in creating different styles and testing varying techniques on mannequin heads in class before offering them to clients on the cutting floor.

This year, Pauline Pryor created the long hair look, Brittany Burton designed the look for medium-length hair, and Dorothy-Anne Lacy crafted the short hairstyle. Pryor is an educator, and brand ambassador and has been with Sport Clips for 13 years. Burton has been with Sport Clips since 2013 and has charted her career through Sport Clips starting as a stylist and promoting to a coach and educator. Lacy has served as a Sport Clips area coach, brand ambassador, and Artistic Team member.

"Introduction of the Collection is an opportunity to elevate our internal education to focus on specific trends and techniques and maybe even encourage stylists to step out of their comfort zone to get that precision cut, elevated look Sport Clips clients want,” says Stacia Kelley, Sport Clips artistic director. “While other brands are training stylists virtually, Sport Clips stylists get to experience that critical one-on-one, in-person training with these looks to keep their skills sharp and the looks they create for clients even sharper.”

The Sport Clips Artistic Team travels throughout the year to beauty schools and major hair shows representing Sport Clips on stage and in classrooms to educate aspiring and current hair professionals. This is the fourth Collection introduced since the Artistic Team's inception in 2014.
