Wienerschnitzel Opens its Second Arkansas Location in Less Than 90-Days

Record-Breaking Opening Propels Leading Hot Dog Brand to Open in Springdale

September 14, 2023 // Franchising.com // SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Wienerschnitzel, the world’s largest hot dog franchise, announced the opening of its newest Arkansas location on September 16, this time in the Springdale community.

This location officially marks the brand’s second of 20 total restaurants coming to the state over the next several years. Located at 4726 Mercy Lane, the new Wienerschnitzel is conveniently located just off of Elm Springs Road, west of I-49. Tejas Dogs, the operational group based out of Texas, is carrying out the development agenda with several additional sites already approved in Arkansas.

Tejas Dogs is owned by Mike Smith and Alvin Fults, two business partners with other operations throughout the country. Brian Shinall serves as the group’s business manager, and brings over 30 years of real estate development and investment experience to the table. His expertise within the restaurant and retail space, combined with being an Arkansas native, has primed Shinall as the ideal candidate to lead the charge for the high-level development plans.

“Our first opening in Bentonville was bigger and better than any of us could’ve ever imagined,” said Alvin Fults. “We were able to achieve fantastic results, having broken Wienerschnitzel’s opening day sales record across all locations several days in a row. The multi-unit development in Arkansas comes on the heels of the brand launching unique ghost kitchen test locations in California, Texas and Georgia, with an aim to further innovate and better understand key market segments across the country. The successful opening in Arkansas generated impressive sales during its opening week, a testament to the brand’s growing popularity nationwide.
