Anchored Tiny Homes Ends Q3 with 16 New Territories and 100% Corporate Revenue Increase
The accessory dwelling unit (ADU) builder franchise is seeing incredible growth, going into the fourth quarter with 34 territories awarded for the year and continued revenue hikes.
October 26, 2023 // Franchising.com // FAIR OAKS, Calif. -- With 13 operating territories across the country, Anchored Tiny Homes, the emerging accessory dwelling unit (ADU) builder, is exploding through franchising. Founded and built by the Paulhus family, who identified persistent demand for housing amidst a housing crisis, the brand launched franchise offerings in 2020 and quickly exploded, achieving incredible growth in addition to its already-successful corporate locations. Now, as the team looks toward the remainder of 2023, it is rounding out the third quarter with 16 new territories awarded, eight new franchisees joining the system and five new territories opened.
"In the third quarter, we awarded 16 territories across multiple markets including Orlando, Florida; Las Vegas, Nevada; Tampa Bay, Florida; Rhode Island; Houston, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; and St. George, Utah," explained Colton Paulhus, co-founder and CEO. "This puts us at 34 territories awarded for the year, and this trajectory makes us confident we'll reach our goal of awarding 50 by the end of the year."
Paulhus added that the Tampa Bay territory was awarded to the sons of a man who is the largest franchisee with a major fitness brand. Given the family history and prior conversations with the new Anchored Tiny Homes franchisees, Paulhus looks forward to partnering with the pair to grow across Florida.
In addition to new territories awarded, the third quarter also saw five new Anchored Tiny Homes territories launched in Salt Lake City, Utah; Austin, Texas; Central Oregon; and Boise, Idaho. Another wave of openings is expected in the fourth quarter with many franchisees set to launch on November 1 or December 1.
Much of this growth can be attributed to the attractive returns the Anchored Tiny Homes model offers.
"As of the end of the third quarter, corporate revenue has doubled year-over-year, and franchisees are seeing similar success," explained Paulhus. "Some of our franchisees who just recently opened their territories have already sold a few ADUs and are off to a great start."
As the brand continues to grow rapidly, it is also building out its strong team to better support franchisees and the system's larger growth efforts. This year, Anchored Tiny Homes welcomed Chris Pace, who comes from one of the largest homebuilders in the world, as its new Vice President of Operations. Pace will play a crucial role in further developing and honing operational processes and playbooks that franchisees will use to scale as the entire system looks to the next big growth surge.
"We're growing quickly, and market circumstances are only becoming more favorable," said Paulhus. "The federal government just created a loan product that is geared toward ADUs in particular, meaning the solution will become even more accessible for the average consumer. We're at the ground floor of the growing industry, states are recognizing the need for ADUs as a housing solution and the market continues to become more favorable for franchisees looking to break into the space and build a business that serves both themselves and the clear needs of their communities."
