Save a Lot Opens Dorchester Road Location Under New Ownership

Local store owner introduces revamped store layout and new product offering

February 06, 2024 // Franchising.com // CHARLESTON, SC - Save A Lot, one of the largest discount grocery chains in the U.S., today announced the opening of its store at 5060 Dorchester Rd., which has been fully remodeled inside and out for the best grocery shopping experience available. On February 1, North Charleston residents can attend the store’s grand opening event to experience the upgraded look and feel while enjoying the quality and value customers have come to love.

Customers entering the store will notice a lighter, brighter and easier-to-shop footprint that includes new décor and lighting, fresh interior and exterior paint and new signage. The store fully reflects Save A Lot’s new brand image, providing a fresh look and enhanced functionality, while continuing to serve as North Charleston’s hometown grocer.

Starting at 10 a.m. on February 1, Shannon McPherson, store owner and operator, along with the North Charleston Chamber of Commerce and elected city officials will do a ribbon cutting followed by tours of the store. Then at 11 a.m. the North Charleston Police Department will face off against the North Charleston Fire Department in a 3-minute shopping spree benefiting their charity of choice. The North Charleston Police Department will be shopping for Second Chance Resource Center Network United, Inc. and the North Charleston Fire Department will be shopping for Community Resources Center.
