March 13, 2024 // Franchising.com // AMARILLO, Texas - PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is opening its first Amarillo location in March.
The Amarillo PJ’s Coffee will be located at 9201 Town Square Blvd., Suite 1310 in Town Square Village, across from X-Steakhouse. PJ’s coffee quality remains the foundation of its roasting methods, done just blocks from the famous French Quarter in New Orleans. Amarillo resident Cathy Meyers is the owner and will be the primary operator of the New Orleans-born coffeehouse.
“I am thrilled to bring the warmth of PJ’s Coffee to my hometown,” said Meyers. “Returning to Amarillo has given me and my husband Joel the opportunity to not only contribute to the local business scene but also to the community that holds a special place in my heart. We look forward to serving our neighbors with passion and dedication through the joy and aroma of PJ’s Coffee.”
Cathy Meyers brings 30 years of experience in management, sales and support. Her husband and business partner, Joel Meyers, is a U.S. Army Special Forces veteran.
“Not only are we proud to bring authentic New Orleans flavors to the Texas Panhandle, but we’re also happy to be able to create job opportunities for those in the surrounding communities,” said PJ’s Coffee Senior Marketing Manager Christian Petersen. “We hope that Amarilloans don’t just see PJ’s as another coffee shop, but instead as a place for people to come together to our unique brand of New Orleans coffees, specialty drinks, delicious food and charm.”
PJ’s Coffee utilizes only the best quality arabica coffee beans, sourcing 14 origin coffees from around the world, including Sumatra, Ethiopia, Colombia and Papua New Guinea. Chief Roastmaster Felton Jones, who has over 20 years of experience with the company, has dedicated his career to helping the brand achieve its promise to provide authentic New Orleans flavors across all locations. The coffeehouse was acquired by Ballard Brands in 2008, which is spearheaded by brothers Paul, Scott and Steve Ballard.
