Sylvan Learning Opens New Center in Tavares

April 30, 2024 // Franchising.com // TAVARES, Fla. - Sylvan Learning has opened its newest franchise location in Tavares, Florida at 1924 Salk Ave. just south of the AdventHealth Waterman Hospital.

Sylvan Learning of Mount Dora/Tavares is locally owned and operated by Megan Cabrera who will open another center in Apopka at a later date. Cabrera began her career as an educator with Sylvan two decades ago before teaching in the Florida school system for nearly 20 years. After teaching nearly every grade level and subject area, she found her way back to Sylvan when exploring entrepreneurial opportunities in education.

“I’ve seen firsthand that there is tremendous opportunity to support students in Tavares and Mount Dora,” said Cabrera. “It’s a full-circle moment for me returning back to Sylvan after teaching for two decades, and I’m proud to open my first location in the community I call home. I am a firm believer in the power of Sylvan, and I know it can benefit the growing number of students struggling to keep up in the classroom.”
