Sylvan Learning Welcomes Educator and Family Physician as Franchise Owners

June 05, 2024 // Franchising.com // BALTIMORE - Sylvan Learning awarded a two new territories in Denver and Monroe, North Carolina to first-time franchise owners Anthony and Onyinye Igbokwe.

Anthony has worked in education for two decades as a high school teacher and administrator, and Onyinye is a local family physician. The Igbokwes are Nigerian immigrants and moved to the area four years ago in search of a community in which they could start a family-run business together.

“Sylvan allows us to own a business that will have a positive impact on our community,” said Anthony. “There is nothing more rewarding than boosting students' confidence in the classroom, and we know firsthand that Sylvan’s personalized tutoring approach works.”

The Igbokwe’s son was enrolled at Sylvan, and the couple was amazed with his progress that translated to the classroom. “Education is a key factor in a successful career path, regardless of the industry, so we’ve always instilled a love of learning in our kids,” said Onyinye. “We’re proud to introduce Sylvan to two new communities here in North Carolina.”

Sylvan Learning has been producing results for students for more than four decades. Now, as students and educators nationwide work to close the gap from pandemic-related learning loss, its resources are in more demand than ever.
