Bojangles Gains Ground in 2025 with Openings in Key Growth Markets
Bojangles is making strategic moves in 2025, marking the first half of the year with strong franchise momentum and a growing national footprint. From first-time entries in major cities to expansions in established markets, Bojangles is delivering on its mission to bring flavorful chicken and craveable breakfast to more communities, and doing so alongside experienced, community-focused operators. With 17 new restaurant openings this year and more on the way, Bojangles is rising from a regional staple to a national player in the chicken and breakfast space.
“Our recent openings highlight the strength of our partnerships and the growing demand for Bojangles in both familiar and new markets,” said Brooks Speirs, Vice President of Franchise Sales at Bojangles. “Whether we’re reentering a community or entering one for the first time, our goal is to support franchisees who believe in our brand and want to grow with us.”
In Sanford, Florida, Bojangles reopened a previously shuttered location following a 2024 fire, hosting a pre-opening celebration to thank local firefighters and community members. This reopening marked Bojangles’ 10th location in Florida and reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to rebuilding and reinvesting in core markets.
April brought Bojangles’ first opening in the state of New Jersey. The new restaurant in Piscataway was developed by seasoned operators Sanjay and Dipak Patel, who plan to open 10 more locations in Central Jersey. Situated in the New York DMA, the opening is a key step in Bojangles’ push into the Northeast.
In May, Bojangles strengthened its presence in Mississippi with a new location in Olive Branch. Franchisee Ketan Patel, who also owns a Bojangles in Horn Lake, continues to grow the brand in the state. This restaurant is Bojangles’ fifth in Mississippi and is located in a suburb of Memphis, an area with strong potential for further development.
June marked another high-profile opening in Lewisville, Texas. Operated by entrepreneur Jeff Frankel, this North Texas restaurant is Bojangles’ 10th in the state and reflects the brand’s targeted growth in high-demand suburban markets across Texas.
Most recently, Bojangles opened its newest Alabama location in Jasper. The restaurant, owned by local franchisee Aaron Rosenstein, brings Southern flavors and hospitality to Walker County. With seven locations already operating in the state, Alabama remains a key part of Bojangles’ Southeast strategy.
And, more growth is on the horizon. Bojangles is excited to announce a new 20-unit development agreement for the Northeast. The brand and its newest franchisee are excited to bring the authentic southern inspired menu to guests in the northeast. More to come on this latest expansion initiative.
With more than 830 restaurants systemwide and many more in development, Bojangles is actively seeking multi-unit operators with strong business backgrounds and the capacity to develop at least three restaurants. The brand’s expansion strategy is focused on high-growth markets across the U.S., supported by a menu that balances Southern tradition with modern QSR performance.
