Checkers & Rally's Committed To Supporting Franchisees Through Growth, Profitability, and Technology

Checkers & Rally’s has continued its aggressive growth plans throughout 2020 despite the world-altering effects of Covid-19. Throughout it all, the brand’s drive-thru modular restaurants continued serving guests their “craveable” burgers, fries, and shakes the same way it’s done for more than three decades now. Revenue from restaurants rose 4% to $64.4 million from March 24 to June 15, according to the brand’s second-quarter financial results, according to Bloomberg.

The brand has weathered all kinds of economic conditions, while continually innovating, and growing - now closing in on its quest for 1,000 restaurants. The Tampa, Florida-based brand is even turning to revolutionary technology like AI to help optimize sales and increase profitability for its 900-plus locations.

Long known for its innovative approach to business and operations, Checkers & Rally’s has led the pack by implementing technology in its operations, menu, modular buildings and kitchen design, recruiting, training, and more. This summer the brand teamed up with an AI partner in a quest to increase its locations' sales, find new market opportunities, and widen its consumer base more quickly. The brand’s AI partner, location intelligence provider SiteZeus, combines the brand’s performance data with top datasets to produce accurate sales forecasts. The end result is faster and more efficient data collection that leads to growth and improved operations throughout the Checkers & Rally’s system.

2020 has been an unprecedented year for businesses everywhere. But Checkers & Rally’s has remained focused on driving revenue for its franchise partners through its unique modular drive-thrus, introducing new menu items, and remaining dedicated to its proven streamlined restaurant operations. That brand’s efforts improve team member efficiencies and deliver strong financial results for franchisees.

“Our guests found comfort during Covid-19 knowing they could still safely enjoy our bold and flavorful food ,” says Director of Franchise Recruitment Ursula Lane. “Meanwhile, existing and prospective franchisees got to see once again that our brand offers a competitive business opportunity in just about any economic environment.”

She says the brand is keeping the momentum and innovation going in 2020, relying on everything from AI to evolving contactless food delivery services in their restaurants to virtual Franchise Candidate Days with prospective franchisees.

Most recently, Checkers & Rally’s announced that industry veteran and former Jack in the Box chairman and CEO Lenny Comma had joined its board of directors. Comma’s history of exceptional leadership, operational insights, marketing savvy, and sales growth are another sign the brand is intent on pursuing growth.

Checkers & Rally’s has earned many of the industry's most prestigious awards including: "#1 Most Craveable Fries" by Restaurant Business; Best Franchise Deal and "Best Drive-Thru in America" by QSR Magazine; Top Food and Beverage Franchise by Franchise Business Review; the "Hot! Again" award from Nation's Restaurant News and has consistently been ranked on Entrepreneur's Franchise 500.
