Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands Snaps Up Corner Bakery
Multi-brand operator and real estate investor Jay Pandya has purchased Corner Bakery for his Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands, LLC, which is a part of the Rohan Group of Companies he owns. PRGB purchased the fast-casual brand from Roark Capital Partners in a private transaction and undisclosed terms.
“Our acquisition of Corner Bakery aligns with what we believe families are seeking – high quality kitchen crafted food and good, consistent customer service,” said Pandya.
The Rohan Group of Companies has been involved in operating multi-unit, multi-brand concepts such as Pizza Hut, Checkers & Rally’s, and Dunkin’ Donuts.
Rohan Group affiliate Engage Brands purchased the Boston Market chain of restaurants in April from Sun Capital Partners Inc. and has been working to expand the Boston Market brand by opening restaurants and expanding the menu. Pandya says he sees opportunities for strategic alliances between Corner Bakery and Boston Market.
Corner Bakery began in Chicago in 1991 and started franchising in 2007. Roark Capital Group acquired Corner Bakery in 2011 from Il Fornaio Corporation.
