In fact, our team members are trained to deliver to each guest crispy fried chicken that is juicy, loaded with flavor, yet not greasy.
Dixie Lee was founded in Belleville, Ontario in 1964 and has been a part of the food services industry in Canada for more than forty years. The concept was initially marketed as supplementary food items to existing restaurants. Dixie Lee began selling franchises on July 21st, 1988. Mr. David Silvester started in the business in 1970 as an owner/operator of a single Dixie Lee outlet in Castlegar, British Columbia. He then aquired a Dixie Lee Area Franchise for British Columbia, where after developing this province he was successful in purchasing the Dixie Lee franchise parent company in 1979. This facilitated Mr. Silvesters move to Dixie Lee Head Office in Belleville, Ontario. Mr. Silvester was responsible for developing Dixie Lee from 8 to more than 35 stores in Ontario by 1987.
