About La Boulangerie de San Francisco

Founded by famed French baker Pascal Rigo, La Boulangerie de San Francisco is an iconic café bakery known as much for its authentic French atmosphere as its one-of-a-kind 27-layer croissant and its mouthwatering, scratch-made pastries, breads and sandwiches. The café bakery strives to bring a little taste of France to every customer every day. Using only the freshest all-natural ingredients, everything they serve is made daily from scratch, from the breads and the pastries to the sauces and the salad dressings. A neighborhood staple that is warm and inviting and committed to being an important part of their communities by being socially and environmentally responsible neighbors.

Franchise History

La Boulangerie de San Francisco has been operating in the Bay Area since 1995, founded by French baker Pascal Rigo as La Boulange. Pascal began the brand with the Pine Street bakery in 1997. In 2012, the Bay Bread Group owned 4 commercial bakeries and 22 café bakeries under the La Boulange brand. In July 2012, Rigo sold the company to Starbucks for $100 million in cash and Rigo and team went on to lead the food division at Starbucks, only to be reopened again in September of 2015 by Pascal and team under the name La Boulangerie de San Francisco. Now, back under the highly skilled hands of its founder, the legendary neighborhood staple.
