Honour Veterans and Hire Veterans: Express Employment Professionals Actively Promotes Hiring Vets

TORONTO, ONTARIO - (Marketwired - Nov. 10, 2016) - As we honour their service to our country this Remembrance Day, Express Employment Professionals, Canada's largest franchised staffing company, is encouraging Canadian businesses large and small to hire military veterans, saying they have the ideal attributes many employers are looking for in new employees.

"Veterans have the communications skills, work ethic and experience to make great employees," said Bob Funk, CEO of Express Employment Professionals. "The best way to honour a veteran to hire a veteran. It's a wise choice for your business. It's the right choice for your business."

This Remembrance Day, the company is doing more to help promote opportunities for Canadian veterans with more offices across the country working to actively recruit veterans and participation in a job fair aimed at Canada's veterans.

To promote working with veterans, Express Canada is participating in a one-day fair in Ottawa on November 15, called the National Transition exCHANGE. The job fair is hosted by Canada Company, a non-partisan organization, which assists military members, reservists, veterans and military spouses to find jobs through its Military Employment Transition (MET) Program.

The MET Program has helped veterans find jobs in all industries across Canada; most prominently in the financial and consulting sector, oil and gas industry, trucking and logistics, aerospace and engineering, and IT/Telecommunications.

The program showcases the benefits of working with Canada's military men and women, who have vast experience with skills like planning, communication, management and the trades needed in today's economy.

It's estimated that approximately 7,600 Canadian Armed Forces personnel leave the Canadian Armed Forces each year.

Bob Funk, who has been in the jobs business for 50 years, agrees that veterans have a lot to offer employers.
