About Urban Float

Founded in 2012 in Seattle, and franchising since 2016, Urban Float is a floatation therapy concept using 1,200 pounds of Epsom salt in 200 gallons of skin temperature water that provide a unique and cutting edge experience to customers with a high-end spa ambiance. Urban Float currently has four locations throughout Washington and is seeking single- and multi-unit franchisees to mainstream floatation therapy.

Franchise History

In 2008, Joe Beaudry was looking for ways to help him gain a competitive edge in his corporate career. Stress-relief, focus, and improved memory were just a few of the items on his list. And so with a little research, he found an online community of passionate “floaters”; advocates of the benefits of floating, and how these benefits helped them with the careers and their personal lives. Through an online forum, Joe was able to try a floating tank in the basement of an avid user’s home. An hour later, he knew he had stumbled upon something very special, that would not only help him personally, but something, if branded and presented to the public correctly, could start to help countless professionals in markets all across the country. Partnering with Scott Swerland, who has years of retail experience in the tanning sector, Joe launched the first Urban Float in 2012 in Seattle. Together, Scott and Joe have grown Urban Float to four locations throughout Washington.
