MultiUnit Franchising Grows at Lightning Speed

Current data continues to validate that multi-unit and multi-brand franchising is evolving at lightning speed in all industry segments. In fact, FRANdata, a Washington-based information company specializing in franchise research based on UFOCs, recently released the following statistics to Franchise UPDATE, Inc.:

27,000 franchisees own and operate two or more franchise units in the United States.

7,000 franchisees operate two or more brands as multi-unit franchisees.

These 27,000 multi-unit franchisees represent more than 30 different industries and together operate 110,000 franchise units, out of a total of 219,000 franchise units in the United States.
