Florida Multi-Unit Operator Adding Big Chicken To Portfolio

Panhandle Restaurant Group (PRG), a Florida-based restaurant franchise operator with multiple Sonic Drive-In locations, has signed a new development deal with Big Chicken. The new agreement will see PRG bring 40 Big Chicken locations to markets in North Florida and Northwest Arkansas. Big Chicken is the Shaquille O’Neal-backed QSR brand that’s been gaining attention.

“We are entering the Big Chicken family and can clearly see an upside for us,” said Chris McMillan, co-owner of PRG. “In the restaurant industry, you have to possess not only passion for the food but for the people as well, and from the moment we sat down with the Big Chicken team it was clear our energy was in alignment. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this brand to Florida and Arkansas!”

PRG is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Chris and Amy McMillan. The couple has been working in the restaurant industry since they were both 16. Today they operate 22 Sonic Drive-In locations across multiple regions and are currently expanding with other franchise brands and even their own concepts.
