Multi-Brand Group Bringing More Shipley Do-Nuts Locations to Colorado

Multi-brand franchise operator Meisternuts LLC is adding donuts to its lineup of food brands courtesy of a new deal to acquire two Shipley Do-Nuts shops and open another 16 locations. The Utah-based operator now has exclusive development rights with the brand for Colorado Springs and the greater Denver area.

Meisternuts LLC is led by Chairman Corby Robertson III, Jeff Howes, who oversees real estate development and the operations team, along with Mike Cummings and Robert Long, and Ryan Howes, who heads finance and accounting. The company operates other franchise locations primarily in western states where it owns 42 Five Guys restaurants and 13 Zaxby’s restaurants in Idaho, Massachusetts, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

Robertson is no stranger to the Shipley brand. The fourth generation Houstonian said he’s been a fan his whole life.

“I grew up with Shipley and we’ve always loved the do-nuts, so for starters, it’s a brand I know and believe in,” said Robertson. “I’ve also been very impressed with the many initiatives and the strong financial results the current leadership has achieved in a relatively short time. This is an excellent opportunity to diversify our restaurant portfolio with an exciting brand that is growing fast.”

Shipley Do-Nuts has more than 330 restaurants across 11 states.
