Multi-Unit Franchisee Insight - Formative Influences & Key Accomplishments Part 2

Multi-Unit Franchisee Insight - Formative Influences & Key Accomplishments Part 2

We talk to successful multi-unit operators regularly here at Franchise Update Media. These busy on-the-go people share great insight and wisdom with us through our profile stories in Multi-Unit Franchisee magazine. Here, from our archives, are some insightful responses from some of these franchisees.

What are some of the formative influences and events in your life?
I came into franchising through a retired friend. The brand won me over instantly with its new, refreshing taste, becoming my favorite sub shop. So being a partner was an easy decision. When my partner left the group, I was able to take over. I brought along three new business partners and everything has been working great. Without them and the team members at each store, our success wouldn't be possible.

Share some of your key accomplishments:
Being a professional baseball player I've earned many awards, but the best accomplishment, by far, is being able to surround myself with the ones I care most about, giving people opportunities and watching the success of others. The key value in life is integrity.
Adrian Gonzalez, multi-unit franchisee of Jersey Mike's Subs

What are some of the formative influences and events in your life?
Watching my father and uncles grow our small, independent motel business in a college town back in the 1980s into the multi-brand and asset company that it is today, developing lifelong relationships with all of our franchisors and partners along the way.

Share some of your key accomplishments:
I'm always focused on the future and upcoming accomplishments. There is a lot of potential for growth and opportunity in both business and life. I like to keep my sights on the next goals.
Shirin Kanji, multi-unit franchisee of Rent-A-Centers, hotels (Marriott/Starwood, Hilton, Hyatt), BurgerFi, Carstar, Starbucks outlet
