Franchise History

2008 is when Josh York created the idea for GYMGUYZ, a mobile personal training and fitness company. Upon graduation from college in 2007, Josh began his Marketing career in corporate America leaving behind his passion for personal training at the gym! However, it was soon after working in his new career, that he got the itch to return to the fitness industry. He often thought about his clients at the fitness clubs saying to him how amazing it would be to work out in the comfort of their own home. Josh knew that most of his clients didn’t have the proper equipment or the variety of workout gear needed for an effective training session. So, tapping into his creativity, his professional background in marketing and his solid knowledge of health and fitness, Josh decided he would launch his own company. He would offer the experience that was completely different, bringing customers a unique service. Soon this idea became GYMGUYZ! After spending most of the next year developing a business plan and planning the launch of the business, GYMGUYZ came to reality in 2009. Josh hit the streets with the first GYMGUYZ van. He started driving up and down the Long Island Expressway every single day from 7am-7pm. He created promotional materials, brochures and flyers to publicize his services to business owners and started marketing GYMGUYZ everywhere he could to spread the word about his new company. The phone started ringing and GYMGUYZ was on its way. In 2010 Josh hired a personal trainer, to help keep up with client demand. But soon, he was growing so fast that he needed to add 2 more vans and hired 3 more employees. In 2011 GYMGUYZ added 3 more vans to the fleet and recruited additional certified professional trainers to join the team! Continuing to grow in 2012 Josh purchased ANOTHER van and decided he needed a dedicated sales vehicle, too! With a loyal and growing client list Josh decided it would not be long before he was to franchise the brand and his unique business model. In 2013, the GYMGUYZ are proud to announce they are now franchising.
