About Roy Rogers Restaurants
Based in Frederick, Md., Roy Rogers® is a chain of western-themed quick-service restaurants offering broad appeal across multiple dayparts and generations. The company is famous for serving up a "Triple Threat" – three popular main dishes including USDA choice top round roast beef, hand-breaded, fresh fried chicken and great-tasting burgers – and for its famous Fixin’s Bar®, where guests can customize their orders with a variety of fresh produce, condiments and signature sauces.
Established in 1968, Roy Rogers’ was founded and made famous by its original menu staples - roast beef sandwiches and milkshakes. At the time, the popular quick-service restaurant had a vision to offer guests an experience above and beyond that of most fast food restaurants. Due to its popularity, Marriott Corporation used the Roy Rogers Roast Beef name on conversions of its Jr. Hot Shoppes locations in the Washington, D.C. area, beginning the phenomenon it is today. Shortly after, several franchisees took notice of the brand and undertook development of Roy Rogers in select markets throughout the United States. In 2002, The Plamondon Companies purchased the Roy Rogers trademark from CKE Restaurants, the parent of Hardee's, moving the company’s headquarters to Frederick, Maryland, close to its birthplace. Today, the brand remains faithful to the Roy Rogers tradition of serving up quality food and service, while also blazing a new trail of reimaging what the QSR franchise can be. This commitment has resulted in steady growth for the company and a fiercely loyal following of “Royalists.” As of May 2021, the Roy Rogers chain consists of 22 corporate and 25 franchised restaurants (47 total locations).
