Pizza Factory Heats Up Development with Nationwide Expansion

When it comes to the pizza industry, Pizza Factory is in a league of its own. Hardworking operators, industry-leading technology and high-quality products combine to create a beloved West Coast icon that’s been the center of 100+ communities since 1985. On the heels of yet another record-breaking development year, the brand has laid the groundwork for a swing of new openings in Q1 and beyond.

Kicking off 2023, Pizza Factory celebrated its opening in Orangecrest, California, with multi-brand operators Larry Yanez and Jesus Martinez. This is the first of five Pizza Factory locations the duo plans to develop in Riverside County, adding to their existing 21 Wingstop locations.

“We invested in Pizza Factory for many reasons, but primarily because people love the quality food and culture of the brand,” said Yanez. “Pizza Factory has established such a huge presence in California that we’re excited to be building on with our new location in Orangecrest. We’re very familiar with the restaurant scene in southern California with our existing restaurants and know that our new pizzeria will have the same success.”

Building on the momentum, the brand also welcomed openings in Rocklin, California, and Mesa, Arizona, with passionate pizza-preneurs reinforcing its legacy. Longtime Pizza Factory fan and commercial real estate banker, Rich Cardon, is leading the charge in Mesa. Cardon grew up visiting a local Pizza Factory in his hometown and was eager to bring a childhood favorite to the Mesa community.

“It is a great feeling to know that many of our franchisees, including Rich, have had such wonderful experiences at Pizza Factory prior to investing in the brand themselves,” said MJ Riva, CEO of Pizza Factory. “As we continue to grow our footprint across the West Coast and into new states, it’s rewarding to see our brand’s tight-knit culture remain strong.”

To top it off, Pizza Factory garnered the attention of several notable awards, including the coveted Entrepreneur Franchise 500® list, rising nearly 50 spots from last year. The award-winning brand has also been recognized by Nation’s Restaurant News as one of the Top 500 restaurant chains by sales, landed on the Franchise Times Top 500 list and ranked as a Top Food & Beverage Franchise according to Entrepreneur, just to name a few.

As Pizza Factory continues to develop into new markets, the brand is providing multi-unit operators flexible new-build or conversion options with delivery/curbside and traditional dine-in prototypes ranging from 1,000 – 4,000 sq. ft. From multiple fast-casual prototypes to a new Express quick-service model, Pizza Factory maintains its reputation for family-friendly dining and high-quality products. The brand specializes in its vast menu offerings, serving fresh, never frozen hand-tossed pizza, pasta, wings, sandwiches, salads, beer, wine and more.
