Twin Peaks Serves up Growth
Twin Peaks is riding high.
The ultimate sports lodge is off to a fast start in 2020 with a laser focus on innovation and accelerated franchise growth. The category-leading brand continues to build off a stellar 2019 that included a 2.5% increase in year-over-year sales and a 1.2% increase in year-over-year traffic. Through 2019, Twin Peaks also introduced a game-changing smoked meats program and elevated lunch and beverage menus. Along with a creative take on food and beverage, Twin Peaks opened three new restaurants, remodeled two existing flagship locations, and sealed three new franchise deals.
“Twin Peaks is on a winning streak with no plans of slowing down,” says Joe Hummel, chief executive officer for Twin Peaks. “2019 was a very successful year for us, and we are excited to continue that momentum through 2020. Twin Peaks thrives on innovation, excellence, and separating ourselves from the norm.”
The popular Texas-based chain, with 85 locations in 26 states, continues to shake up the traditional casual dining industry with a unique local experience that delivers primetime matchups, below freezing cold 29-degree beer, and hearty, made-to-order comfort food served up by all-female wait staff. Every restaurant kitchen in the nation is now equipped with a smoker, serving up craveable favorites, like the Spicy Thai Ribs and Carolina Pork Sandwich. Coming in March 2020 are even more menu items that are created in the in-house smokers, including the new Smoked Half Chicken and the Smoked Brisket Tacos.
Along with an enhanced menu, Twin Peaks recently added more than 20 new handcrafted cocktails and multiple drink sections to its already extensive beverage menu. The new sections include a Day Drinking category for the brunch-goer, Zero Proof for guests who want the game-day experience without the bite, and Back to Basics, a throwback category for those seeking a simple selection.
At Twin Peaks, menu innovation is never over. The brand is on a constant quest to craft and deliver the best quality food and beverages for guests – and franchisees.
“Our culinary team will have new menu items in our test kitchens each month to keep the ideas fresh and flowing,” adds Hummel. “And with our continued expansion, we also plan to expect to see even more regional shifts to the Twin Peaks menu.”
Founded in the Dallas area in 2005, Twin Peaks has hit the road to expansion as a proven concept with an unmatched franchise proposition and unique approach to real estate. Twin Peaks estimates 90% of the chain’s restaurants are conversions of existing casual dining locations. Strong, disciplined standards on specs, training, and operations ensure that restaurant guests can count on a great experience every time and at every store throughout the country.
Development plans through 2020 include 15 additional restaurants, including several new markets, as part of super-charged growth nationwide and on the international stage. Twin Peaks celebrated its debut in Lubbock, Texas, in January and is set to open the chain's first restaurant in Mexico City in the coming months. Redesigns are also in the pipeline, upgraded to include expanded indoor and outdoor bars, enhanced AV packages, outdoor firepits, and more.
Franchise development also shows no signs of slowing down. Twin Peaks projects to add ten new partners in 2020 to account for 40 new locations.
The opportunity to expand the Twin Peaks' brand power furthers the chain's commitment to making a lasting impact in every community it serves, most notably through its national charitable partnership with Folds of Honor. Since 2017, Twin Peaks has donated more than $750,000 to the military nonprofit to help fund scholarships for families of fallen and disabled service members.
