NBA's Draymond Green Bringing Blink Fitness to Michigan

Three-time NBA champion Draymond Green is going one-on-one with Blink Fitness in a deal that will see him open 20 of the premium-quality, value gyms in communities in his home state of Michigan and also in nearby Illinois. Green and his partner Tom Shumaker have signed on to build and operate the facilities, with their first opening in Warren, Michigan early next year.

Green says he has a passion for building healthier and stronger communities in Michigan and other parts of the Midwest. He believes Blink Fitness provides access to premium-quality gyms at affordable prices and will improve the quality of life for people throughout Michigan and beyond.

"Every community should have access to clean and affordable indoor spaces to get fit and unfortunately, there are too many places that don't have any options. I know this personally. Growing up in Saginaw, there were no gyms and in fact, I never set foot in a proper gym until my freshman year at Michigan State. That's why our focus has been on providing Warren and similar communities across the Midwest with a better option for physical fitness, to improve community health for people of all ages," said Green.

Blink Fitness has more than 90 locations open or in development across eight states, with plans to reach the 300-unit mark during the next five years.
