Wienerschnitzel Franchisee Expands With Walmart-Based Unit

Wienerschnitzel franchisee Evan Carbonell continues to grow his portfolio with the opening of a new restaurant inside a Walmart Supercenter in Alamogordo, New Mexico. It was scheduled to open last week.
The location, inside the Alamogordo Walmart Supercenter at 233 S. New York Ave., marks Carbonell's fifth Wienerschnitzel and his first in New Mexico. Carbonell currently owns and operates four locations in El Paso, Texas, and has plans to open four additional units in the Fort Worth area under his Met1Franks group.
By choosing a Walmart-based restaurant, Carbonell is tapping into a high-traffic retail environment that aligns with his growth strategy and allows him to introduce the brand to customers already seeking convenience-driven dining options.
Wienerschnitzel's Walmart locations offer the brand's full menu, including Chili Cheese Dogs, Junkyard Dogs, Chili Cheese Fries, Jalapeño Peppers, and Tastee Freez soft-serve desserts, giving franchisees the ability to operate with a familiar menu in a nontraditional setting.
"As we continue to test and expand this format, Walmart has proven to be a strong platform for introducing Wienerschnitzel to new communities and meeting guests where they already shop," said Doug Koegeboehn, chief marketing officer for Wienerschnitzel. "The Alamogordo opening reflects the growing demand for convenient, high-quality quick-service options in retail environments and reinforces the scalability of this model as part of our long-term growth strategy."
