Alkhatib Family Signs 5-Unit Feng Cha Deal in Texas

A veteran multi-unit franchisee family is adding a new concept to its portfolio, signing a five-unit development deal with Feng Cha to bring the premium beverage brand to Central and North Texas.

Leading the development is the Alkhatib family, Yasser Alkhatib and his sons Khalid and Beshr, who bring more than 25 years of restaurant experience to the partnership. Khalid and Beshr will oversee the day-to-day operations and growth of the new locations.

The agreement includes three locations in Waco and two in the Dallas-Fort Worth market with the first unit expected to open later this year. The deal marks Feng Cha's official entry into Waco and continues its broader expansion across Texas.

The family has deep roots in franchising through its Denny's portfolio, which includes 11 locations across Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Since 2008, Yasser has developed six of those units from the ground up and consistently met or exceeded corporate growth targets.

Feng Cha, founded in Texas by Johnny Gao and Yan Chen, has grown to more than 80 locations nationwide and continues to attract experienced operators looking to diversify into the specialty beverage category.
