Franchise Update Signs 7-Year Contract with the New Caesars Forum

2020 marks the 20th anniversary of the Multi-Unit Franchising Conference

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA/LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, October 14, 2019 – In advance of the 20th anniversary of its annual Multi-Unit Franchising Conference, Franchise Update Media has signed a 7-year contract with the new Caesars Forum conference facility. The new $375 million, 550,000-square-foot facility on the Las Vegas Strip is set to open in March 2020. The Multi-Unit Franchising Conference will take place the following month, from April 14–17. The conference will be moving across Las Vegas Boulevard, a short walk from Caesars Palace, where it has been held since 2013.

Last year’s record-setting conference drew more than 1,700 total attendees with nearly 300 sponsors and exhibitors. The 650-plus franchisees in attendance represented a total of 14,000 units, $9 billion in system-wide revenue, and employed 250,000 people. Three out of four franchisees at the conference were seeking new brands, and all were looking for solutions from the exhibitors.

“We’ve made a commitment for this first-class space in a brand new facility through 2026,” said Gary Gardner, Chair of Franchise Update Media. “We’d maxed out on Exhibit Hall space at Caesars Palace and had to turn away exhibitors the past several years. Not only can the new space accommodate more exhibitors, we also are seeing growing attendance and an expanded international presence at the conference, as well as greater interest from finance and real estate companies looking to connect with multi-unit franchisee organizations.”

“This conference is unique: it is the only conference where the franchisees are the main attraction. The networking opportunities are phenomenal,” said Tony Lutfi, the 2020 Conference Chair. “I have been attending the conference since 2006 and have made a deal every year I attended, except one. Each year I leave more inspired, more educated, more connected, and often with a nugget from the speakers or panelists that carries us for many months afterward.”

Centrally located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, the $375 million Caesars Forum conference facility will feature the world’s two largest pillarless ballrooms, each 110,000 square feet (about one U.S. football field), and be the first facility of this size built on one level. It also will feature Forum Plaza, the first 100,000 square-foot dedicated outdoor event space in Las Vegas. In total, it will accommodate more than 10,000 attendees at one time.

Additional features of the new conference facility include direct access to 8,500 hotel rooms at Harrah’s Las Vegas, LINQ Hotel + Experience, and Flamingo Las Vegas, and be within walking distance of 20,000 Caesars Entertainment hotel rooms. The new venue will offer more than 300,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, two 40,000-square-foot ballrooms, six state-of-the-art boardrooms, and more than 100 breakout rooms.

Room blocks for attendees and exhibitors will be reserved at both Harrah’s and Caesars Palace, located just across the street from the new facility.
