Seasoned Operators Team Up To Open 5 Eggs Up Grill Locations
Franchise partners Jackson Turner and Darby Smith have signed on to open 5 Eggs Up Grill locations in South Carolina, with the first set to open this fall in Clemson.
The two men have been friends since childhood and have extensive backgrounds in the restaurant industry. Turner is the co-owner of First Sun Management with his father and they have owned and operated 19 Wendy’s restaurants in South Carolina and Georgia for the last 35 years. Smith was most recently the co-owner of three Henry’s Smokehouse Barbecue and Catering restaurants in Greenville, South Carolina.
“We have dreamed of going into the restaurant business together for years,” said Smith. “We’ve both dined at Eggs Up Grill many times and we were always impressed with the quality of food and consistently great service.”
Turner says that breakfast is a growing daypart, and that they are glad to invest in a brand that is the best in the business. “It’s truly a brand that aligns with our family values,” he said.
The partners said they are excited to be opening just two miles from Clemson University, in the heart of off-campus living where they will welcome football fans on game weekends. They say they are targeting Easley, Seneca, and Greenwood for future locations.
Eggs Up Grill was originally founded in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, by restaurateur Chris Skodras. The brand now has 47 locations.
